After months and months of speculation Google has finally revealed the official dessert name for the next iteration of its mobile operating system. Google announced that Android N, the latest version of Android, will now go by Android Nougat. Nougat is the latest dessert-themed version of Android, due out later this summer.
Google made the announcement on Snapchat and Twitter.
Android has a history of using alphabetically ordered sweet-treat names for Android — Android 1.5 was Cupcake, 1.6 was Donut, then Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat, Lollipop and Marshmallow. This time around, Google opened the name-storming session up to the Internet at large.

Android N Release Date ?
Google unveiled the first developer preview in March for Android N, while showing a number of features that will be in the latest version of Android, well before the final release is available. The reasoning for doing a developer preview is to get developers working on their apps and games before it is available to everyone, so that they will work with the latest version of Android.
There’s been a lot of beta versions of Android N, but when the actual product will arrive is still a bit vague. Google has mentioned a possible Q3 launch, meaning it could be here before September, although it could be sooner.
